"My UPSC journey began in 2013 after I completed B.Tech (Mechanical) and what an amazing journey it has been !!! It has indeed  been a dream journey - landing up as both, Deputy Collector and IRS within a couple of years is what every serious candidate dreams of!

The second attempt gave jolt to this dream but nevertheless it has been fulfilling and satisfying journey.

I remember , right before my first prelims I was sick. Yet every morning I would find myself popping up some medicine and pushing myself for 12 hours of preparation. Frankly speaking, I was unaware of such tremendous willpower within me. I had heard that our mind is powerful than our body. But that was the first time I realised it. I could experience my own power and my commitment and this, I think, was the greatest gift I received.

UPSC not only made me aware of my strengths but also my weaknesses. UPSC reinforced my belief that hard work does pay off. It made me a better and a more rational human being. It made me better in putting my arguments in a discussion. It made me better at prioritising things. Being an introvert , I am not good at small talks, discussions (still am). But UPSC took me out of my comfort zone sometimes and made me interact with wonderful people. And yes, that was truly enriching.

I had always been a student who scored well in school life. Even in college, I managed to score decently well. However not getting a rank of my choice in both attempts made me digest failures and bravely face them, something which I had never done before.

One of my colleagues, here at NADT and a very dear friend of mine, succeeded as IAS-Maharashtra cadre this year, which is dream  for all of us. As I was bidding him adieu I realised I was genuinely happy for him and there was not even a tinge of jealousy. That's when I realised , I have grown upand somewhere along the way, along this journey of UPSC, I had matured !

So best wishes to all for this enriching journey."
